9:00 – Saskatchewan‘s official opposition is not pleased to see the scores students are bringing home and, as a result, is failing the province on its approach to education. Saskatchewan NDP education critic, Matt Love, says Premier Scott Moe’s priorities are wrong, putting pronouns over the basics of reading and math. And as teachers and the province remain at a standstill in their contract negotiations, Love joins Evan to go over the issues of education in the province right now.

10:00 – It’s no question that 2023 was dominated by a certain music superstar — Taylor Swift. Between her Era’s Tour, her concert movie, her NFL spottings and red carpet moments, she’s been dominating entertainment coverage over the past year and continues to now. There’s a lot to Taylor Swift, even beyond her pop star persona — so much so that some universities have been offering entire courses dedicated to her songwriting and career. Vivek Jayaram is one of the people teaching one of those courses. He’s a partner at Jayaram Law in Florida and teaches courses on intellectual property and entertainment law at the University of Miami. He’s combined those interests to teach a course on intellectual property AND Taylor Swift. He joins Evan to talk more about the course and why that aspect of Swift’s career is worth studying.
LIVE: Vivek Jayaram, lawyer and partner at Jayaram Law.
10:30 – Former Humboldt Bronco, Tyler Smith, has been on quite the journey over the past several years. In 2023, he and his girlfriend, Kat Kastner, won the Amazing Race Canada. Coming up later this month, he’ll be inspiring people again as the keynote speaker at a More Joy Regina event on January 24th. He joins Evan to share what perspective he’ll be offering at the event.
