Brian Lilley wrote in his Wednesday column what discussions might have taken place the night before Prime Minister Justin Trudeau offered an apology concerning the incident that led to the Speaker’s resignation. He joins Taylor MacPherson to delve into the response of the Liberal government further.

10:00 – In the wake of allegations by Canadian Prime Minister, Justin Trudeau, over the death of Sikh nationalist Hardeep Singh Nijjar, tensions between Canada and India remain strained. Saskatchewan Chamber of Commerce CEO, Prabha Ramaswamy, joins Taylor MacPherson to discuss the current Canada-India relationship and the impact of this political tension in Saskatchewan from the perspective of someone who was born and lived in India during her formative years.

10:30 – In a recent study by investigative journalist, Ryan Thorpe, the Canadian Taxpayer Federation revealed that the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation has amassed more than half-a-billion dollars in real estate. CTF federal director, Franco Terrazzano, joins Taylor MacPherson, to delve into the public broadcaster’s real estate holdings.

11:00 – With hunting season in full swing, chronic wasting disease testing drop off locations are open once again for hunters to submit samples of deer, moose and elk. The province reported on Tuesday that the disease continues to increase in Saskatchewan and testing will also happen this year for bovine tuberculosis. Wildlife health specialist, Dr. Iga Stasiak, joins Taylor MacPherson to share more information about these diseases and how they are impacting Saskatchewan wildlife.

11:30 – A specimen of rare bee, last seen in Saskatchewan more than 65 years ago, has been uncovered by researchers at the Royal Saskatchewan Museum. Research scientist, Dr. Cory Sheffield, who was also part of rediscovering the species in Nova Scotia, joins Taylor MacPherson to discuss the discovery.

12:00 – More than 100,000 children were sent to Canada from the United Kingdom between 1867 and 1948 as indentured farm labourers and domestic servants — with many ending up in Saskatchewan. Susan Brazeau, a historian and speaker from Lloydminster, will be travelling to Saskatoon on Oct. 6 to give a presentation at the Saskatoon Public Library on the topic. On National British Home Child Day, Brazeau joins Taylor MacPherson to share a preview of her in-depth knowledge and more people need to know about the subject.
