8:30 – Saskatchewan may be done with public health orders, but the COVID-19 pandemic has left us with about 35,000 people waiting for surgeries or other procedures, and there’s a lot of catching up to be done. Our provincial budget included a record-high $6.8 billion in health spending, and an additional $62M in federal funding is earmarked to help clear the backlog. Health Minister Paul Merriman joins Gormley to tell us about the current surgical backlog, and how the Province is addressing the issue.

The collapse left investors wondering what happened to $10M of their money, and the future of the 500 homes the company owned in Saskatoon and North Battleford is still in doubt. Chris Guérette, head of the Saskatchewan Realtors Association, says they’re closely tracking their monthly statistics to see the impact of the company’s collapse. Guérette joins Gormley to tell us how Epic’s collapse is affecting the housing market and those who invested in Saskatchewan real estate.
