10:00 – Raising the minimum wage is a great way to lift people out of poverty, right? Well, according to a new study from the Fraser Institute, there’s no clear link between higher minimum wage and reduced poverty. Their study found only 8.8% of all workers earn minimum wage, with more than half between the ages of 15 and 24, meaning they’re not the primary breadwinners of their households. Ben Eisen wrote the study, and he joins Gormley to explain some of the misconceptions around minimum wage.
