8:30 – When Premier Scott Moe joined Gormley Tuesday morning, he announced that those residents in Saskatchewan who received an AstraZeneca vaccine as their fist dose will likely get a second injection of Pfizer. The move caused concern for some, who would prefer to get both doses from the same manufacturer despite the potential risks associated with AstraZeneca. To explain what the latest research says about dose mixing and safety, John is joined by microbiologist Dr. Joseph Blondeau.

10:00 – Enbridge’s Line 5 pipeline provides a major conduit for petroleum in North America, could be shut down soon thanks to a push by Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer. Whitmer set today as the date for the pipeline’s closure, but Enbridge has said it has no plans to meet the deadline. Both sides are set to meet with a mediator on May 18, but if the pipeline is shut down before or after that it could cause massive disruptions in Canada with big economic ramifications. Pipeline expert Dennis McConaghy joins Gormley to explain the situation and what Canada can do about it.

12:00 – The SGI-bucks are coming! SGI is planning to mail out more than 700,000 rebates in May and June, with an average cheque for someone with an SGI-registered vehicle or trailer totaling $380. The rebate push is the largest ever for SGI, and comes after the Crown insurance corporation found itself flush during the COVID-19 pandemic due to a drop in claims.
