8:30 – More healthcare services are going to be up and running again in Saskatchewan starting next week, as the Saskatchewan Health Authority increases surgical and medical imaging volumes along with other services. But even as services resume, the Health Authority is still constructing two field hospitals in Saskatoon and Regina in case of a second wave of COVID-19. SHA CEO Scott Livingstone joins Gormley to discuss the return of more medical services.

Some have called for police services to be defunded or abolished entirely, but because that’s not a reasonable option we wanted to discuss what police can do to eliminate these issues. Mark Fisher is the head of the RCMP in Saskatchewan and president of the Saskatchewan Association of Chiefs of Police. He joins Gormley to discuss what police can do to address racism and excessive force and stay accountable to the public.

11:00 – Have you see the “three-shot challenge” going around social media? The idea is to challenge your friends to take three shots of alcohol in a row, and if they don’t do it they must donate $100 to a charity of your choice. It seems like harmless fun, but author and speaker Allan Kehler says these types of challenges could cause real issues for young people or those who struggle with alcohol. Kehler says COVID-19 has led to significantly-increased alcohol use in many people, and for a lot of people it’s harmless but for others it’s an issue that demands some attention. Kehler joins Gormley to discuss some of the issues around alcohol-related “challenges” and why COVID-19 has made the issue worse.
