8:30 – Sun West Distance Learning Centre in Kenaston is set to launch a new online class called Mental Wellness 30L. The course, the first of its kind in Saskatchewan, helps students proactively improve and monitor their mental wellness and offers strategies for managing mental health and life issues. Course instructor and developer Elaina Guilmette says the course is designed to remove common barriers adolescents have identified such as personal challenges, stigma, social isolation, lack of perceived need for treatment, geographical, and financial challenges. The course will be piloted in multiple face-to-face classrooms in 2019/2020, and Guilmette joins John now to tell him more.
