8:30 – The nationwide manhunt for 19-year-old Kam McLeod and 18-year-old Bryer Schmegelsky has been centred on the northern Manitoba community of York Landing since Sunday when the RCMP there received a credible tip about a possible sighting. The community has been on edge for days as they were asked to stay indoors while armed officers scoured the area for any sign of the fugitives and air force planes circled overhead. Yesterday the RCMP said they were unable to confirm the sighting but said they will maintain resources in the York Landing and Gillam areas. Kelly Geraldine Malone has been following the search for the Canadian Press, and she joins John now to discuss the search and its effect on the community of York Landing.

10:00 – Delays from the federal government mean hundreds of millions of dollars in federally-funded projects won’t get started in Saskatchewan this construction season, according to the provincial government. Gordon Wyant, minister responsible for SaskBuilds, penned a letter to Federal Infrastructure Minister Francois Champagne last week along with Government Relations Minister Warren Keading, saying the province has “worked hard to advance projects such as safe drinking water, northern evacuation centres, and solid waste management,” and calling the delay “simply not acceptable.” Wyant joins John now to talk about the projects and what effects the funding delays could have in Saskatchewan.

11:00 – Maxime Bernier is in Saskatchewan today and tomorrow, attending events in Regina, Estevan, North Battleford, Saskatoon, and Prince Albert including rallies for his People’s Party of Canada. With the fall election approaching, we wanted to check in and see what expectations the PPC leader has for his newly-minted federal party, and whether he’s concerned potential vote-splitting on the right will help Trudeau secure another term as PM.
LIVE: Maxime Bernier, PPC Leader.
11:30 – Has today’s culture of overprotection and helicopter parenting ruined fun? Tenille Lafontaine, who you know from our weekly WTF panel, was recently at Calaway Park in Calgary where the bumper cars are now called “dodge ’ems” and riders are directed to drive in a clockwise circle rather than trying to ram each other head-on. Do you think modern parenting is taking all the fun out of childhood in order to bubble-wrap kids? Give us a call at 1-877-332-8255 and tell us what you think!
