8:30 – Regina MP Erin Weir has decided he won’t be running for reelection this fall. Weir has been sitting as an independent ever since Jagmeet Singh booted him out of the federal NDP caucus in May of 2018 over harassment complaints that found Weir stood too close when speaking to people and argued excessively with a staffer. Weir has said there was a lack of due process when he was expelled from the NDP caucus, but on Tuesday the now-independent MP announced he wouldn’t run again in 2019. We’ve covered the case on our show since the beginning, and Weir joins Drew now to discuss the latest development.

12:00 – Saskatchewan has a wild pig problem. According to researchers at the U of S, the spread of wild pigs has grown significantly in Canada in recent years, and their range has expanded by more than 80,000 square km each year over the past decade. The pigs can adapt to nearly any conditions and eat nearly anything, making them a concerning invasive species. According to Ruth Aschim, a PhD candidate who led the U of S research, eradicating the pigs would be extremely difficult because of their many adaptations. Aschim joins Drew now to discuss Saskatchewan’s wild pigs.
