11:30 – Is masculinity “toxic”? We’ve heard a lot of criticism of traditional masculinity recently, and it’s been blamed for everything from suicide to terrorism to climate change. But is masculinity really at the root of all violence and sexism? Is it doing more harm than good to ask men to repress their masculinity? Are the differences between the genders socially constructed or natural? Christina Hoff Sommers, an author and philosopher well-known for her video series “The Factual Feminist” and book “The War on Boys,” says it’s very normal for men to act manly. She joins John now to discuss toxic masculinity and how men can still be masculine without hurting anyone else.
LIVE: Dr. Christina Hoff Sommers, host of “The Factual Feminist” and the “Femsplainers” podcast, and resident scholar at American Enterprise Institute.
