8:30 – The Saskatchewan government’s challenge against the federal carbon tax gets underway Wednesday in Regina, as the province asks the Saskatchewan Court of Appeal to declare the tax unconstitutional. A number of groups have standing in the case, including the David Suzuki Foundation, Athabasca Chipewyan First Nation, and the B.C. government, all of whom are expected to side with the federal government. John is joined by Prof. Dwight Newman, law professor and constitutional law expert, to help analyze the legal battle and Saskatchewan’s chances.

12:00 – The Canadian Federation of Independent Business has released some new data on the eve of Saskatchewan’s constitutional challenge against the federal carbon tax. According to the CFIB, small firms will pay almost half of the carbon tax and receive just 7 per cent back. The challenge against the tax in Saskatchewan is also supported by 91 per cent of Saskatchewan small businesses. John is joined by Marilyn Braun-Pollon with CFIB to discuss their findings.
