8:30 – Ontario Premier Doug Ford was in Saskatchewan Thursday to meet with Premier Scott Moe and hold a roundtable discussion with business and industry leaders in Saskatoon. The two premiers discussed shared interests such as the carbon tax, economic competitiveness, and inter-provincial trade. Premier Ford took some time during his trip to catch up with Gormley.

11:00 – U Sports, the national brand for university sports in Canada, recently announced a new policy allowing transgender student athletes to “compete on the team that corresponds with either their sex assigned at birth or their gender identity.” Although meant to promote equal opportunity, similar policies have been criticized elsewhere, notably in Texas where a female-to-male transgender student wrestler has won the state high school championship twice in a row in the girls’ division.
