Amalgamated Transit Union Local 615 reported late Friday afternoon that a tentative deal had been reached with the city of Saskatoon.
Members will have a chance to vote on the new deal on Tuesday. If approved by the union, a final vote will need to pass through city council before the agreement is finalized.
In a press release, the City said they were “encouraged” by the tentative deal.
ATU drivers had been refusing to work overtime as they tried to pressure the City into conceding to their contract demands.
The City said the job action is expected to continue until a deal is finalized.
Drivers have been without a contract for over four years. The main sticking point in negotiations had been on the structure of their pension plan.
No details have been released on the tentative deal.
