A man is facing numerous charges after a three-hour standoff with Saskatoon police overnight.
Around 10:15 p.m. Wednesday, police received a call about a disturbance in the 200 block of Lewis Crescent.
When officers arrived, they found a man shouting and barricading himself on the back deck of a stranger’s home.
Police said the man was seen brandishing garden shears and a knife while threatening self-harm.
The suspect was also causing property damage and refusing to cooperate with officers.
Crisis negotiators on scene were able to bring the situation to a peaceful surrender around 1:15 a.m. Thursday.
Fire and ambulance crews were on scene as a precaution. There were no injuries.
A 29-year-old man is facing charges of mischief under $5,000, prowl by night, weapon dangerous to public peace, along with three charges breach of recognizance, two charges breach of undertaking and three criminal code warrants.
