A Saskatoon man is describing a scary ordeal after police arrived at his house to investigate a shooting Thursday.
Police were called just before 4 a.m. to the home on the corner of Avenue G South and 17th Street after a 42 year-old woman was shot. She was taken to hospital and was believed to be in “stable” condition according a police release.
Shamin Khan says he slept through the shooting, but was jolted awake by police smashing his basement window to gain entry to the residence.
“Someone was running up and down stairs … just yelling kind of thing, and after that I saw a lot of police,” Khan said.
“Very scary. I never had this kind of situation before.”
Khan lives in the basement. He said his roommate’s father lives upstairs with a woman.
The police Targeted Enforcement Unit is handling the investigation. So far no arrest has been made.
