A stressful week has a happy ending for Regina’s Kyle Munday.
His car was stolen on July 18 from a parking lot on Albert Street North parking lot. It was recovered by police in Saskatoon on Sunday.
“(Police) found the car and the guy, and he’s in custody and that as of right now my car is actually at the Saskatoon police (station),” said Munday.
During the search for his car, Munday obtained surveillance tapes from a gas bar which showed footage of a man dressed in Munday’s clothing. The video allegedly shows the man stealing from the gas stations in Regina.
He explained it was an unnerving experience watching the footage.
“It’s just very shocking that out of nowhere, he’s driving my car, and who else knows what he’s doing,” said Munday.
When police called him with the good news, he says they told him it was recovered as a result of the arrest of a 34-year-old man from Calgary. Police have not confirmed if it was used in the police chase in Saskatoon Sunday morning.
Munday expects to get his car back, but not in the same condition. Some damage was done to the front end of the vehicle, though what exactly happened is unknown.
