The first of three American Presidential debates may be in the books, but one debate continues to rage in Riderville.

Who should be the Roughriders most outstanding player?

There's a pretty good chance that whoever wins won't win the overall award, but it's certainly a question worth asking. There's certainly a lot of options on this years team, as they are just that...a team. That being said, a couple of candidates do stick out right away.

Receiver Weston Dressler has once again easily passed 1000 yards receiving, and has lit up the field a number of times this season. Meanwhile, running back Kory Sheets is on the verge of 1000 yards rushing, and currently sits second in the league in yards from scrimmage.

"Pretty much impossible to stop him, unless you put a hand on him," said Sheets of Dressler. "And that's pretty hard to do, since he's so small and so fast."

Sheets adds that when Dressler doesn't have a good game, odds are the rest of the offense won't either. As it puts a lot of pressure on everyone else to step up and fill a pretty big void.

"He's been our offense, week in and week out," said Dressler of Sheets. "When he's running the ball well, he's opening up the passing game."

Dressler is also impressed by Sheets' ability to run the ball when the game is on the line, to be the closer, to run the ball when everyone knows you're going to.

So clearly, both are speaking very highly of each other, and you could certainly argue that both are equally important to the offense and open up holes for each other.

With all of this in mind, we want to know who you think should be the Roughriders most outstanding player...should it be Sheets? Dressler? Someone else? Have your say by tweeting jaimenye or gzfootball. You can also text the show (weeknights at 6) at 306306. We'll announce the fans choice next week.
