Carla Hoffer and Joe Smith focused on the 3-2 record the Roughriders have racked up this season so far during their auditions for the Coolest Job Ever with 980 CJME.

Hoffer believes fans have high expectations of the team.

"With a young team and a new coach -- not just a new coach, but a rookie coach -- here we are 3-2. Most people would have been ecstatic. However, our expectations are better. We should have been 5-0," said Hoffer during her rant.

She says the number of points that the Riders let the opposing teams gain in their last two games is unacceptable.

For Smith, he sees a need to deal with crossing patterns in the backfield and turnovers. He did think the ball control in the first three games was the key to the wins.

He was happy to hear how coaches are addressing some of those issues.

"They got some new zone schemes they're going to work on this week," said Smith.

He believes that will help address the crossing patterns that he says allowed the other teams to accumulate those points in the final quarters.

More will audition next week for their chance at the Coolest Job Ever, which awards a $10,000 prize, a trip to the Grey Cup as well as the opportunity to be the voice of Rider fans on 980 CJME.
