UPDATE: Saskatoon mom searches for 11-year-old son
A distraught mom is desperately searching for her son after 11-year-old
Steven Fiddler left his aunt's house in Saskatoon's Holiday Park area on
Dawn Fiddler said Steven lives with his aunt and left the house after a fight with his cousin.
The boy's aunt told Fiddler that he took a backpack with a change of clothes.
However, Fiddler said he hasn't contacted friends or family in the last five days.
"His friend's parents have been out looking around, they've been going to, like, White Buffalo. I've handed out some fliers with Steven's information and picture," said Fiddler.
Those fliers as well as a recent Saskatoon Police Service release describe Steven Fiddler as five feet tall, 120 lbs., with blue eyes and a short mohawk.
She remembers her son packing a bag and leaving once before, but said he turned up at a relative's home two hours later.
"I don't know what the real story is, why he would have left, and without telling anybody where he's at or contacting anybody," Fiddler said, her voice cracking with sobs.
Fiddler described her son as a "homebody" who isn't very active. She thinks he's more likely to be at somebody's home than out on the streets, but isn't ruling anything out.
Steven has a lot of family in Saskatoon, and Fiddler just hopes he reaches out to someone soon.
"He knows I love him very much, he knows that his other family loves him. I just don't see why he would leave for so long without contact with anybody."
Fiddler asks that anyone with information call Saskatoon police at 975-8300 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
