TSN's Milt Stegall on Darian Durant
As the Saskatchewan Roughriders get set to return to practices after a week off, former Winnipeg Blue Bomber and TSN guest analyst, Milt Stegall, has voiced his thoughts on quarterback Darian Durant.
Earlier this week, Durant said he and fired offensive co-ordinator Doug Berry just couldn’t “get on the same page” in the first eight games of 2011. He also said he was happy that Ken Miller was returning to coach the team for the final ten games of the regular season.
Stegall, one of Berry’s former players from Winnipeg took exception to those comments by Durant while on News Talk Radio’s Sportsnight with guest host Wray Morrison on Thursday night.
“I thought (Durant) was a great player. (Quarterbacks) are going to make good players great and average players good,” said Stegall. “Darian Durant hasn’t done that…I kind of lost a little respect for the fact he said he’s got his security blanket back now”.
The Saskatchewan Roughriders return to the practice field on Sunday. Their next game is Sunday Sept. 4 at 2 p.m. at Mosaic Stadium.
