Thrower, Sutter and Stephenson hear their names called at NHL entry draft

32 WHL Players were chosen including six from Saskatchewan

Saskatoon Blades forward Lukas Sutter was chosen in the second round (39th overall) by the Winnipeg Jets during Saturday's NHL entry draft in Pittsburgh. 

Sutter had 28 goals and 59 points for the Blades in 2011-12. 

Blades defenceman Dalton Thrower was also selected in the second round (51st overall) by the Montreal Canadiens. Thrower had 18 goals and 54 points with the Blades last season. 

Regina Pats forward Chandler Stephenson, from Saskatoon, was selected in the third round (77th overall) by the Washington Capitals.

A number of Saskatchewan born WHL players were selected:

Ryan Murray - White City SK - Columbus Blue Jackets

Derrick Pouliot - Weyburn SK - Pittsburgh Penguins

Damon Severson - Melville SK - New Jersey Devils

Chandler Stephenson - Saskatoon SK - Washington Capitals

Taylor Leier - Saskatoon SK - Philadelphia Flyers

Graham Black - Regina SK - New Jersey Devils.
