Three charged with impaired driving after two collisions keep police busy
Police were kept busy with a night of impaired drivers.
Just before 8 p.m. on Saturday the Saskatoon Police received a call of a collision on the Sid Buckwold Bridge.
Four vehicles were involved in the crash and traffic was backed up on the 1st Avenue and 20th Street exits.
Police said in a release that it was miraculous that there was no serious injuries or people transported to hospital because two of the drivers were under the influence of alcohol.
The 23-year-old and 29-year-old drivers were charged with Impaired Driving and Drive While Over .08.
Only a few hours later the police were called to a two vehicle crash on Circle Drive and 8th Street.
At 12:30 a.m. a vehicle was travelling northbound in a southbound lane and collided with another vehicle.
Police were called to the scene and the Jaws of Life were needed to get one of the drivers out of their vehicle.
The 25-year-old driver who was hit is in hospital but is considered stable.
A 19-year-old female is facing charges of Impaired Driving Causing Bodily Harm, Take Vehicle Without Owners Consent, and three Breaches of court ordered conditions.
