A Yorkton teenager is pleading guilty to assaulting and robbing an 80-year-old woman.

The 15-year-old was arrested July 4 after stealing the woman's purse outside a mall parking lot.

The woman was knocked to ground and hurt so badly that she had to be taken to hospital.

The teenager pleaded guilty to those charges and several other crimes in provincial court in Yorkton yesterday.

The youth has been in police custody since his arrest. He will be back in court for sentencing October 16.
