Suspect found in a doghouse after crashing stolen truck
There's a big mess to clean up in Saskatoon's Sutherland neighbourhood after a chase with police ended with a stolen pick up truck slamming into a home.
It started at around 3:00 a.m. this morning. An officer began tracking the
truck near McOrmond Drive and Highway 5 after he realized the vehicle was
stolen. The officer flipped on his lights, signalling the truck to pull over,
but instead the vehicle sped off.
Police later found the pick up after
it had crashed into a home at Hedley Street and Gray Avenue in Sutherland. No
one in the home was hurt.
Two people inside the vehicle made a run for
it, but they didn't get far.
The police K-9 unit was brought in and the pair was found not far from the scene.
One of them was discovered hiding in a doghouse.
The two are from Prince Albert. They now face a list of serious charges including theft over $5,000, criminal negligence , and failing to stop for police.
Police say they may tack on more charges.
