According to media reports, smoke was discovered in the galley of Air Canada flight 34 on its way to Vancouver from Sydney, Australia.

The pilot was forced to dump fuel over the suburbs north of Sydney before returning to the airport for a safe landing.

Initial reports suggest that there were no injuries to any of the 264 passengers.
