Sales of Roughrider gear are picking up heading into the weekend of the first official home opener against Edmonton.

Dan Reiss with Jersey City in Regina says there was a lot of uncertainity from fans on what to buy after last year's disappointing season.

"Seeing them win by such a large margin last week I think kind of renewed a lot of optimism," he said.

So what's popular for the green and white right now?

Reiss says he's selling a lot of women's Rider gear.

"Tank tops and tube tops and shorts and hats depending on where you're sitting I guess, any sort of warm weather 'keep you cool' items this time of year are really popular," he said.

At first not everyone was impressed with the new Rider's jerseys but he says fans are starting to come around.

"I think people were a little skeptical at first, I think a lot of people still liked the old one, but seeing them wear it on Friday of last week and certainly seeing them win quite handily in it I think has changed a lot of perceptions," Reiss commented.

Even the white jerseys are selling a bit more as a trendy look although most fans still go for the 'sea of green' look.

Reiss says the Weston Dressler number seven jerseys are by far the most popular thanks to his stellar peformance in last week's win against the Hamilton TigerCats.
