Royal visit to the Queen City

Prince Charles and his wife will visit Regina May 23

It will be a full house In Regina on May 23, with a future King, Governor General and Prime Minister all coming to visit.

Prince Charles and his wife, Camilla, will be visiting the Queen City as part of Queen Elizabeth's Diamond Jubilee.

When they arrive Premiere Brad Wall will greet them at the Legislature at 11 a.m.

“The royal highnesses will then unveil a plaque commemorating the hundredth anniversary of the legislative assembly. They’re also going to look at some artifacts from the time capsule,” said Jeff Welke, a spokesperson for the Protocol Office.

The couple will also take part in a diamond jubilee medal ceremony where they’ll present medals to some Saskatchewan recipients who serve their fellow citizens community and country.

Welke said the public is welcome to see the Royals when they arrive at the legislature at 11 a.m. on the 23rd - or when they visit Government House at 12:15 p.m.

The Royal Highnesses will also visit the First Nations University of Canada and Ground Effects Environmental Services.

Then their day will end at the RCMP Depot where they'll be joined by Prime Minister Stephen Harper as the Regina Symphony Orchestra performs.
