Regina's city square's fences to come down Thursday
Regina’s new downtown plaza is expected to have its fences come down on Thursday.
City Square project manager Denise Donahue said it won't be completely done before next weekend's Folk Festival. Crews still need to lay down some of the paving stones and put up other finishing touches.
“We have the majority of it done for Folk Fest, after the festival is over then we’re going to finish up the remaining portion,” said Donahue.
She said safety is the reason they're waiting to put down the rest of the stones, with such high foot traffic for Folk Fest they don't want anyone to get hurt on wobbly stones. As soon as the festival is done crews should finish the rest of the project by fall.
“It was a large project to get done within one season. We have almost two football fields worth of space out there that we’re trying to get done in a short period of time,” said Donahue.
