Regina Pats hire director of scouting
The Regina Pats have named Dale McMullin as their new Director of Scouting.
“We are excited to name Dale as our Director of Scouting. With his experience in the WHL, both as a player and as a scout, we feel his extensive knowledge will be a significant addition to the Pats moving forward,” said General Manager Chad Lang in a release.
The Pats are still without any coaches after firing Head Coach Curtis Hunt over a month ago.
McMullin has spent the past nine seasons with the Red Deer Rebels and has most recently been their Senior Scout.
In addition to acting as a scout, McMullin is also a former player in the Western Hockey League, playing five seasons with the Brandon Wheat Kings in addition to being selected by the Atlanta Flames in the 1975 NHL Amateur Draft and by the Phoenix Roadrunners in the 1975 WHA Amateur Draft.
Meanwhile, former Pats assistant coach Shaun Sutter has replaced McMullin in Red Deer.
