After just four days in Canada, Dwayne Jarrett called it quits with the Saskatchewan Roughriders.

The former 2nd round pick of the NFL's Carolina Panthers is retiring as a foot injury plagued him and it wasn't something that looked like he would recover from.

"I can't tell you exactly what the injury is but he decided to retire, or we thought that would be best for his interests and if he has interest in coming back that would be good with us," explained Head Coach Corey Chamblin.

"The best thing that he told me was he saw some guys that were really competing out there and they really had a chance to make this team and he didn't want to stand in the way of that and I respected him for that."
