RCMP search for two men behind a violent robbery
Saskatchewan mounties are on the hunt for two men behind a violent attack and robbery that happened around 3 a.m. today at the Cote Band Store on the Cote First Nation, near Kamsack.
The two suspects jumped a security guard at the store and beat him with a metal pipe.
The man is badly hurt, but he's helping police with their investigation, said RCMP Sgt. Daryl Andrusiak.
"He was conscious. So we were able to speak with him, briefly, trying to allow him to receive proper treatment and what not. I'm sure once everything is settled, and he's better able to speak, we'll be getting a much more detailed account of events from him," Andrusiak said.
The victim is in hospital with injuries to his head and arm.
The suspects got away with some cash and cigarettes.
The Yorkton Forensic identification Unit is helping with the investigation. Police are urging anyone who might know anything about this to come forward.
