A marked police patrol car was involved in a head-on collision near the intersection of Arcola Avenue and 12th Avenue around 6:15p.m. on Tuesday. 

The police car was heading east on Arcola responding to a 9-11 call when the collision happened with a west-bound SUV.

Emergency service crews used the jaws of life to get the police officer out of the patrol car. The police officer and two people in the SUV were taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Police have blocked off traffic in both directions on Arcola while they investigate.
