Some excitement took place near the Southland Mall Monday afternoon when a natural gas line was struck by a contractor.

The one-inch gas line was struck in the northwest corner of the mall's parking lot.

"There is no danger at this time. The gas has been shut off and we're just waiting for SaskEnergy to reconnect the line, do the repairs and then resume the service ," said Gerard Kay with the Regina Fire Department.

No one was injured and residents were not effected.
