A 21-year-old man was taken into custody Friday afternoon, and is facing charges for assault and two attempted break and enters in the area of Preston Avenue in Saskatoon.

Police received a call from someone in the 300 block of Lake Crescent around 2 p.m. about someone trying to enter their home through a window.

Another report from someone in the 400 block of Preston Avenue south described a suspicious male peering through their windows.

In the first case the suspect was scared away by the resident, but in the second the homeowner was assaulted by a stick when he confronted the suspect before they fled on foot.

The victim in the second incident suffered only minor injuries.
