After a frightening standoff Wednesday morning in Rose Valley, a 32-year-old man has been charged with uttering threats, assault and mischief over $5,000.
Police were first called to the home after they got reports of a 32-year-old man smashing and breaking items.
When police arrived, the man retreated to the back of the house, at which point police were able to help a 66-year-old woman vacate the residence.
But things didn't stop there.
The man told police he had a gun and then a loud sound was heard.
Police surrounded the home and after two hours of negotiation, the man was finally taken into custody.
Karl Wallace Squirrel appeared in court today.
His next court appearance is scheduled for August 8 in Rose Valley.
