Regina police were called to the airport Thursday morning, after a gun with ammunition was discovered in a 68-year-old woman's bag in the security screening process.
The .32 calibre handgun, magazine and six bullets was part of an inheritance, says airport CEO Bill Hunter.
“She inherited it from her late father and was attempting to take it home,” said Hunter.
“The RPS came out and determined that this was a pretty innocent situation.”
Police confiscated the weapon and ammunition without laying charges, and are holding them until the woman can get the proper documentation to transport them.
