A fire started outside the small town of Radisson, south of North Battleford.

Town office assistant Wendy Smith said the town is still full of smoke.

"It's really windy here, there's a fire out at our camp ground that isn't under control yet," said Smith.

"There is a threat to our town."

Fire crews are working tirelessly, but the blaze remains out of control.

Many are worried the flames could spread to businesses and homes.

Hopeful for containment

At 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday evening, the fires continued to inch closer and closer to the town.

But residents are trying to keep positive and hopeful.

"Right now with the winds dying down, and the expanding fireguard, we're hopeful that we can contain it."

Fires have also broken out on Wednesday in North Battleford and the Aspen Links country club near Regina burned to the ground.
