It's Family Literacy Day in Regina, and while all families are encouraged to crack open their favourite stories there's an increasing number who might choose to gather around an e-reader.
CEO Jeff Barber of Regina Public Libraries explained.
"E-book use of course, because it's a newer technology, is increasing more exponentially," he said.
Between 2010 and 2011 they watched card holders move from borrowing 5,000 to 38,000 e-books.
But Barber maintained the book still reigns supreme, making up the majority of the roughly 2.5 million items lent out last year.
