Disruption at polling station after smoke spotted
There was some excitement at a downtown polling station as it was evacuated earlier today.
"One of the ladies that worked here said she thought … it looked a little bit smoky," said Sasha Boyd, who works at the front desk of the Francis Morrison Library.
"All of a sudden, the alarms started ringing and we had to … as quickly as possible, evacuate," she said.
The building was quickly evacuated.
Voters and library employees only had to brave the cold for about 15 minutes before firefighters determined the library safe.
The cause of the smoke is unknown, but Boyd says it was coming from a chute inside the library.
For information on where to vote City of Saskatoon has created an interactive poll finder site.
Polls are opened from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.
