After three years of investigation, RCMP arrested a 46 year-old man Friday and charged him with the murder of Gwen Gregory.

RCMP believe Jaycee Mildenberger from the small, East-central town of Usherville is responsible for the death of the 50 year-old grandmother in 2009.

Mildenberger will make his first court appearance on Monday in Regina.

Gregory was found dead in her home in Usherville, North of Yorkton, on March 7th of 2009.

RCMP determined she had died the previous day while babysitting her young grandchild.

Police were able to determine that her death was a homicide at the time and over the past three years they conducted more than 300 interviews, performed aerial and ground searches and brought in forensics teams from Regina and Manitoba.

“We’ve done a great (deal) of work on this file and have a good understanding of a lot (of) what occurred, but there are some other pieces to the puzzle that we haven’t come up with all the answers to yet.,” said the RCMP’s Paul Dawson in a 2011 interview.

Despite the lengthy investigation no arrests were made, until Friday.
