Body recovered from a Saskatchewan lake
An RCMP dive team pulled a man's body from Atton's Lake Regional Park near Cut Knife.
It started Tuesday afternoon. Witnesses say an elderly man was out on the lake on a floating chair when he suddenly became separated from the device.
"He started swimming towards shore. He got about 50 yards from shore, when he started calling for help. There were by-standers nearby that swam towards him. As they got closer he went under, and didn't resurface," said Sgt. John Armstrong with Cut Knife RCMP.
While 911 was called, it was too late.
An RCMP dive team spent the next day searching the lake. Late Wednesday the team pulled the body of a 71-year-old man from the lake.
Saskatchewan RCMP have not yet been identified the man.
