RCMP found a body inside the truck of missing White Fox man James Joseph Gallagher.

An autopsy is scheduled for Tuesday to confirm identification of the body, involving the provincial coroner.

Gallagher has been missing since Nov. 4 last year. His family has organized numerous searches since then. They were notified of the discovery, and comforted by members of the Peter Ballantyne Cree Nation at the excavation site.

The truck was discovered after an off-duty RCMP officer noticed a fender flare on the edge of McLurg Lake, which is about 20 kilometres from Pelican Narrows on Highway 135.

"Members of that detachment were aware of this case, and were looking for any signs of a small red pickup truck, so it did catch his eye," said Sgt. Paul Dawson with RCMP.

After three hours of searching the water early Sunday afternoon, an RCMP recovery team found the submerged red pick-up truck.
