The 21-year-old woman accused of stabbing a five-month-old baby boy in Warman on Wednesday, May 11, appeared at Provincial Court in Saskatoon Wednesday morning.

The woman cannot be named because of a publication ban.

She is currently undergoing a psychiatric assessment in Saskatoon, which has not been completed. That means the accused will have to wait for her bail hearing.

Last Wednesday, RCMP were at a home in Warman serving a family court order when the child was stabbed. Officers gave the child first aid until they reached the hospital. The baby has been in critical condition ever since, and no updates have been provided yet.

The accused is back in court on June. 17 on charges of attempted murder and carrying a concealed weapon.
