Tourism Saskatoon is basking in the glory of a first-place finish.
The City of Bridges is the "City of the Year" according to The Planner Magazine.
The Planner is a magazine written by - and for - event planners. So it's a nod that Saskatoon is a great place to hold your seminar, workshop, convention and so on.
Todd Brandt is the President and CEO of Tourism Saskatoon.
He believes part of what impressed The Planner, was Saskatoon's ability to forge ahead during a rough economy, when cities elsewhere were cutting back.
"We did the opposite," he explains. "In a year that was difficult like that, we deployed the biggest convention marketing program in our history."
Brandt believes this only means more bookings for boardrooms and the like going forward.
