The province is standing by its decision to pull more than 5 million dollars of funding to the FNUC.

Labour Minister Rob Norris says while it's encouraging to see the FSIN dissolve the FNUC board , there are still too many questions regarding financial mismanagement and concerns over the autonomy of the institution.

He says it's about moving forward, and the government plans on doing that with a summit slated for mid March chaired by Norris himself.  It will look at aboriginal post secondary education in Saskatchewan with one of the key themes being a special reference to some of the lessons learned that have been seen in the last 5 years out of this case.

Norris says he looks forward in hearing ideas on how to move forward, especially from students.

"The students have been tremendously courageous, they've been articulate.  I want to make sure they're certainly part of moving forward together."

Norris says he wants to see a number of proposals come forward, especially from the academic community on what future opportunities and models may be.
