Severe thunderstorm warnings will persist throughout Monday.
A supercell, which is a deep, persistently rotating updraft thunderstorm, is producing severe thunderstorms, large hail, and damaging winds.
It is predicted to move eastward throughout the day.
On Sunday evening, a severe thunderstorm watch was issued by Environment Canada.
Environment Canada's Mark Gerlyand said the storm will develop in northern Montana and southeast Alberta over the afternoon before moving into Saskatchewan.
“This thunderstorm will be very intense. We expect large hail, and possibly even a tornado,” said Gerlyand.
Watches are different than warnings. Right now, this is just a watch - meaning there is only a strong chance of the storms materializing.
