Arson charges for Weyburn fires
A young Weyburn man made his first court appearance Friday.
The 20-year-old man is charged with arson after a string of fires.
A camper and the garage it was parked next to were destroyed in a blaze Sunday evening.
Later that night a fire burned down a boat shed destroying the boat inside and damaging the nearby garage. The cost of all the damage is $160,000.
According to the Weyburn Review the 20 year old man accused of starting the fires may also be charged in connection with arson fires set a few weeks back.
A publication ban means the man cannot be named. He was released to his parents on a number of conditions.
He is not allowed to leave their home unless accompanied by an approved escort. He is not allowed within 100 metres of the scene of the fires. The young man also cannot contact the victims. He is not allowed to drink alcohol or take drugs, but must take his prescribed medications.
The young man is back in court July 24.
