A man from Warman has been sentenced to 10 1/2 months in jail for posting fake ads on Kijiji.com

Trevor Payne, 27, was found guilty of theft and fraud under $5,000.

RCMP say Payne was arrested in relation to drug matters earlier this year and had been released on a judge’s recognizance.

The sentence comes after he falsely advertised an acreage for sublet and rent near Warman online. He was also trying to sell property from the acreage and was asking for a large damage deposit.

Not only did he not own the property--he was said to be evicted from it as well.
