A 25-year-old man who was involved in an accident in Saint Walburg over the weekend has died.

The man passed away Monday night. RCMP say he died as a result of severe head injuries he suffered from falling off the tailgate of a truck.

It was early Sunday morning that police were called to Saint Walburg. A man had been sitting on the truck's tailgate, and fell off when the driver made a right hand turn. 

RCMP say alcohol was a factor and once the investigation is complete they will be forwarding the evidence to the crown prosecutor, who will determine if any charges will be laid.
