A Saskatchewan-wide arrest warrant has been issued for a soccer player after a brutal WCP soccer game in Regina.

The Sudan team was playing against Poland in a quarter-final game at the Credit Union EventPlex on April 10.

Roughriders select Corey Watman 4th overall in CFL Draft

The Canadian Football League draft started with the Hamilton Tiger-Cats selecting Linden Gaydosh first overall.

The Saskatchewan Roughriders had the fourth overall pick and selected Eastern Michigan University offensive lineman Corey Watman.

"Interesting part about him is he's been a centre and a guard," said General Manager Brendan Taman. "He's a very talented kid, really hard working kid, he's probably one of the best interviews we've had."

Football has made its return to the Queen City.

The University of Regina Rams hosted their 2013 spring camp on the weekend.

It's an interesting year for the Rams who lost over 20 players to graduation in the off season , including their star quarterback Marc Mueller. So obviously the weekend camp took on a much different meaning and tone then last years.

"We identified some guys that can play," said head coach Frank McCrystal. "We've identified some areas that we still need to strengthen and work on."

Jay Onrait, Dan O'Toole leave TSN for Fox Sports

Canadian sports broadcasting duo Jay Onrait and Dan O’Toole are leaving TSN for Fox Sports in Los Angeles.

The beloved pair will continue to host SportsCentre until late June.

“Every single day I went into work at TSN, I knew I was going to have fun. It’s a unique and rare work environment that I never took for granted. I am forever indebted to TSN for letting me be a part of it for the past 10 years,” Dan O’Toole said in a news release.

Riders add four Sask players to training camp roster

The Saskatchewan Roughriders added four Saskatchewan born players to their 2013 training camp roster on Friday.

Quarterback Drew Burko played his first season at the University of Saskatchewan in 2012. In five CIS games, Burko completed 96 passes for 1,257 yards.

Blades add 15 prospects in bantam draft

It was a busy day at the WHL Bantam Draft for the Saskatoon Blades.

Despite not having a first round pick, the Blades were active at the draft in Calgary, Alta. When it was all said and done, Saskatoon added 15 new prospects to their 50-man protected list.

Regina Pats select Sam Steel 2nd overall in WHL Draft

A busy day for the Regina Pats with the WHL Bantam Draft in Calgary.

The Pats had the 2nd overall pick heading into the draft, with the Vancouver Giants picking 1st. The Giants did end up taking teenage sensation Tyler Benson, as expected.

So with the 2nd pick the Pats took forward Sam Steel from the Sherwood Park Flyers. Steel picked up 102 points last season, including 52 goals. He also led team Northeast at the Alberta Cup in scoring, helping lead his team to victory.

Riders add special teams assistant, release Brandon West

The Saskatchewan Roughriders added to their coaching staff on Thursday.

Cory McDiarmid is the team's new assistant special teams coach. Head coach Corey Chamblin had hinted earlier in the off season that they would be hiring someone for such a position.

McDiarmid joins the Riders after spending the last two seasons with the University of Ottawa as the assistant head coach and defensive coordinator.

The Toronto Maple Leafs have been waiting nearly a decade for another NHL playoff game.
 
Forward Tyler Bozak, from Regina, has been waiting his whole life. The same can be said for his family.

“Excited that’s for sure and certainly there’s a sprinkle of nervousness in there as well,” said his dad Mitch Bozak.

Mitch said the family will be watching the game against the Boston Bruins at home.
